DISPATCHES FROM KOLAHUN
Turning the page on literacy
RESTORE HOPE: LIBERIA is tackling illiteracy in Kolahun, where many adults are eager to learn to read, recognizing it as a path to knowledge and better lives. They are providing literacy classes for women and a collection of books for children, emphasizing the transformative power of reading for individuals and the community
Breaking ground
RESTORE HOPE: LIBERIA is constructing a multipurpose Vocational Education and Training (VET) Center in Kolahun, funded by a generous donation from the Germany Embassy. This center will facilitate skills workshops, business training, community meetings, and economic development projects, improving the community's infrastructure and opportunities.
Under the mango tree
The new logo of RESTORE HOPE: LIBERIA is inspired by the mango tree, which plays a central role in the community's daily life, symbolizing sustenance, shelter, and a witness to life's cycles in the village of Kolahun. This emblem reflects the organization's deep connection to the community it serves.
